Coaching

How Sponsorship Coaching Works

Have one of the world’s most respected sponsorship experts as your on-call advisor — without the cost or commitment of a full consultancy.

Are you working on a project – a strategy, negotiation, proposal, or a sponsorship issue – and wished you had timely access to some expert input? Do you have a smart, committed sponsorship team, but they lack best-practice experience, and could use some ongoing support? Or maybe you’re significantly elevating your approach to sponsorship, and need some expert feedback to ensure your big plans start right and stay on track?

If any of the above sound familiar, and you want access to the experience of a top consultant, without the cost or commitment of a full consultancy, sponsorship coaching might be exactly what you need.

Note: Sponsorship coaching is provided primarily as a value-added service for sponsorship consulting and training clients. It is available as a stand-alone service to a very limited number of sponsors and rightsholders.

Sponsorship coaching with Kim Skildum-Reid

I’m a trusted advisor and collaborator for a blue-chip roster of clients from around the world, I authored industry bestsellers, The Sponsorship Seeker’s Toolkit and The Corporate Sponsorship Toolkit, and and am a frequent commentator to major business media. Now, you can have me as your on-call advisor, providing feedback and answering your questions on the specific challenges faced by your organisation.

Coaching is available as a stand-alone service very select sponsors and rightsholders, and can cover any sponsorship-related areas, including:

  • Strategy and policy development
  • Leverage and measurement planning
  • Proposal development
  • Hit list and hot button development
  • Negotiation and pricing issues
  • Navigating management and internal issues
  • Getting through a creative dry spell
  • Supporting a new or inexperienced team

Coaching support packages

Packages are available for 3- and 6-months. Support packages are based on an average of one 45-60 minute session a week, but the delivery will be based on when you need the most and least support. Coaching sessions can be carried out one-on-one, or with your team, allowing you to get more input and/or buy-in from colleagues.

Support packages are great for organisations that:

  • Are taking a new strategic direction
  • Have many issues or a complex process to get through
  • Have a new or inexperienced team that needs some expert support
  • Are preparing key negotiations or renegotiations
  • Need frank feedback on documents or issues (eg, a proposal, leverage plan, sponsorship job spec, etc)
  • Want to reinvigorate a project that has stagnated
  • Want the on-call support of an external consultant without the cost

Packages

Available for 3 and 6 months, based on an average of one 45–60 minute session per week — delivered when you need the most and least support, not on a rigid schedule.

Sessions can be one-on-one or with your team, for more input and more buy-in.

Not sure yet?

Buy a single session to try it. If you upgrade to a support pack, that session becomes your first pack session and the fee is credited — you just pay the difference.

Tell me what you’re working on and how much support you think you’ll need. If a package isn’t the right shape, I’ll say so.
